Serial fiction is fiction published in episodes — the way Dickens did it, except without the Victorian installment pricing and with slightly fewer orphans. Each piece goes up as it’s written or translated, which means you read it as it happens. You get to be impatient in real time.
Most stories end. These ones are still deciding.
I write and publish fiction as blog serials. These are either ongoing stories, or novels and stories I’m writing or translating and releasing as I go. Some will finish. Some are in progress. A few are genuinely unpredictable, even to me.
Current serials:
Dead Reckoning
Space opera. Stolen cargo, suspicious passengers, and a pilot with a complicated relationship with the word probably. Ongoing. A found-trouble space opera with a mystery underneath.
Back Door
Space Opera. Every Ripple Gate goes somewhere. Ufalt gates do not — or rather, the exit point is still undetermined. A small survey crew is contracted to find out where a decomissioned Ufalt gate might go.
A Dead Reckoning short story.

The Seventh Kill
In The Burghal, where history and old secrets intertwine, someone is hunting down members of the prestigious Fyrn bloodline. With the city’s protection seemingly waning, Inspector Hugon and his small team of dedicated officers must unravel the mystery before it’s too late.
The Seventh Kill is posted as a serial but the complete novel has already been published. Read the story at your own pace. Purchase The Seventh Kill here.
Translations are done from English into Afrikaans. The Afrikaans version of a serial will trail a bit behind the English, but not by too much.
More serial fiction is in development. Check back, or follow [however you follow things] to find out when they arrive.
